CHEMICAL COMPOSITION:
A blocker of the inflammatory process, this drug has an IUPAC name of 2-[2-[2-(2,6-dichloroanilino)phenyl]acetyl]oxyacetic acid. C16H13Cl2NO4 is its molecular formula. This drug falls in the BCS Class II and is poorly soluble with high permeability.
PRODUCT APPLICATION:
NSAID drugs work by blocking the synthesis of inflammation and pain mediator substances. Aceclofenac does the same. It inhibits the COX enzyme and blocks the synthesis of prostaglandin substances which mediate the inflammation. Due to its higher efficacy and lesser side effects than conventional NSAIDs, it is used in ankylosing spondylitis, rheumatoid arthritis, and osteoarthritis for these conditions require long-term use of pain killers.
